The traditional, XX Congress of Hoteliers organized by UPUHH will be held on November 23 and 24, 2017 at the Sheraton Zagreb Hotel as a kind of retrospective of the current tourist year.

The congress will be opened with the central theme ‘Global Investments and Their Impact on Destinations’, which will present the challenges that hoteliers face in terms of legal frameworks, sustainable business, mass tourism, seasonality cycles and various forms of tourism. The program will continue with a panel on sustainable business with the participation of distinguished colleagues from the country and the world, and will end with an analysis of the opportunities provided by various forms of Croatian tourism.

In the evening, at the Hotel Ball, the Croatian Hotel Employers / Entrepreneurs Association will celebrate a quarter of a century by awarding prizes to partners in the tourism sector, media and government representatives who have systematically promoted and monitored the work of the Hotelier Association over 25 years. Pyrotechnics Mirnovec will increase the celebration with fireworks, while HDS ZAMP will take care of the entertainment program.

The second day of the congress begins with an analysis of the current state of the Croatian hotel industry with a presentation from the Faculty of Tourism Management in Tourism from Opatija. The central panel on the second day, entitled "Political Hour", will bring together distinguished representatives of the government and the ministries of tourism, labor and pension system, finance, economy, small and medium enterprises and crafts, and state property. Looking at the current year, the joint efforts will try to offer a proposal for certain long-term plans for tourism, given that Croatia as a country is largely dependent on the tourism industry.

The aim of the last panel, in which we expect the participation of mayors of European capitals, is to answer questions of common interest, present new rules of the game called tourism dictated by the global tourism environment and strengthen cooperation at another meeting of professionals, both domestic and foreign.
