Great promotion of Zagreb on the US market via Satellite Media Tour

The great success and importance of this campaign is confirmed by the media highlighting of Zagreb throughout the USA through an interview with Terry Dale and the story of an active USTOA member promoting the destination

The Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb in cooperation with the United States Tour Operators Association, the leading association of American tour operators, took part in the promotional initiative and campaign Satellite Media Tour during May. It is a campaign in the framework of which the USTOA president, Terry Dale, participated in 20 television and radio interviews across the USA, promoting Zagreb as a year-round attractive destination that follows the principles of sustainable tourism. Zagreb was also promoted by the American tour operator Intrepid, which emphasized local Zagreb craftsmen, thereby presenting authentic experiences in the destination.

The great success and importance of this campaign is confirmed by the media highlighting of Zagreb throughout the USA through an interview with Terry Dale and the story of an active USTOA member promoting the destination. There is also promotion through a film that is shown during the interview and the so-called campaign landing page on USTOA.com. Media such as Daily Flash-National TV, WTLV-NBC TV Jacksonville, WANF-IND TV Atlanta, KRCW-CW TV Portland, Radio Syndicated and many others have supported the campaign, and so far 636 airplays have been achieved on regional and national radio and television programs and 15,5 million impressions.

It is a distinct honor to cooperate with Mr. Terry Dale, dear a colleague and friend, who has visited Zagreb several times, and in this campaign he took on the role of the main ambassador of the capital, about which he shared his own story. We are sure that the effects of this campaign will be reflected in the further increase in the number of American tourists in our city, who, in the current part of the year, the first in terms of overnight stays and the second in terms of arrivals among foreign guests", said the director of the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb, Martina Bienenfeld, emphasizing the potential of the North American market, which has established itself as a key distant emission market for Zagreb.

"USTOA is grateful to the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb for its support and cooperation in this exciting campaign to raise awareness about responsible travel, which emphasizes the benefits of organized travel with a USTOA member tour operator. Zagreb is a vibrant city full of interesting architecture, museums, theaters, galleries, crafts and culinary scenes. Through television and radio interviews, viewers across the US got an insight into the many experiences that Zagreb has to offer.", said USTOA President Terry Dale.

According to The Vacationer Summer Travel Survey & Trends 2023, 85% of Americans plan to travel this summer, of which 42% plan to travel more. In addition to Zagreb, the tourism organizations of Turkey and Malta are participating in the campaign.
