The Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb in cooperation with the United States Tour Operators Association, the leading association of American tour operators, took part in the promotional initiative and campaign Satellite Media Tour during May. It is a campaign in the framework of which the USTOA president, Terry Dale, participated in 20 television and radio interviews across the USA, promoting Zagreb as a year-round attractive destination that follows the principles of sustainable tourism. Zagreb was also promoted by the American tour operator Intrepid, which emphasized local Zagreb craftsmen, thereby presenting authentic experiences in the destination.
The great success and importance of this campaign is confirmed by the media highlighting of Zagreb throughout the USA through an interview with Terry Dale and the story of an active USTOA member promoting the destination. There is also promotion through a film that is shown during the interview and the so-called campaign landing page on USTOA.com. Media such as Daily Flash-National TV, WTLV-NBC TV Jacksonville, WANF-IND TV Atlanta, KRCW-CW TV Portland, Radio Syndicated and many others have supported the campaign, and so far 636 airplays have been achieved on regional and national radio and television programs and 15,5 million impressions.
