"A strong and developed system of tourist boards is one of the key foundations for the further development of Croatian tourism, i.e. the development of the tourist offer at the level of destinations, as well as the implementation of their effective promotion in a global framework. By allocating funds for united tourist boards, as well as for regional tourist boards in underdeveloped areas and on the continent, we have a positive effect on the dispersion of tourist traffic, the extension of the season, the stimulation of tourist consumption, and thus the sustainability of Croatian tourism.", he said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board, adding that quality events are an important part of the offer, which are often the main reason for visiting a particular destination.

At today's session, the Tourist Council of HTZ also adopted a decision on the approval of funds in the amount of 1,3 million euros intended for marketing cooperation with over 30 organizers TOP events in 2024, a among which are, for example ATP tournament Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag, INmusic festival, SEA STAR festival, Rab festival, Dubrovnik summer games, Sinjska alka i dr.

"The development of the continent and underdeveloped areas, as well as encouraging the association of tourist communities in order to make the system stronger and more resilient, strongly contributes to the implementation of the goals of our reform, as we thereby encourage the development of tourism equally in all parts of the country as well as strengthening the quality of products and services. That's why we increase funds for this purpose every year, and this year we secured a record amount of 10 million euros for regional and local tourist boards. We encourage the quality of the offer through the co-financing of TOP events, and I am happy that this year we will also support more than 30 events, from the coast to the continent, which will certainly be an additional reason for the arrival of tourists throughout the year.", said the Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac.

HTZ also states that the members of the Council adopted i Annual report on the execution of the HTZ work program for 2023, as well as the accompanying financial reports, according to which HTZ achieved total revenue last year, which includes funds from special funds, in the amount of 47.855.541 euros, which represents the realization of 100,1% of the planned revenue.
