European Equal Pay Day will be celebrated on November 15 this year as well. Namely in the European Union, and according to collected data member states, the average gross hourly wage of male employees was 12,7% higher than that of women in 2021.

That is why November 15 was symbolically chosen as the day other Redefining Success conferences organized by the Mediterranean Women Chefs platform. After last year's success of the conference where she was the main speaker Colombian chef Leonor Espinosa, the best chef in the world for 2022 in The 50 World's Best Restaurants, this year's main speaker is Maša Salopek, another lady with the title of best in the world.

Namely, Maša is a pastry chef who was awarded an award by The Best Chef (Top 100). The best pastry chef in the world for 2021. The specificity of The Best Chef Awards is that the chefs are chosen exclusively by professionals from the restaurant industry.

Dedicated to gender equality, Redefining Success conference powered by Fortenova Group it is intended for women, but not only for them. The goal is to present successful women and show how women in high positions can influence and bring about changes in their work environment and society. The participants are women, professionals from the gastronomy, hospitality, tourism and business sectors. With their inspiring stories, they want to encourage others, especially young women, to believe in themselves and their abilities and to fight for their dreams.

Along with the conference, a fundraising dinner was organized. The collected funds will be used for a one-month professional training of a young talented future chef, sommelier or catering school student in one of the leading restaurants or hotels abroad or in Croatia.

Redefining Success 2023.

The second edition of the Redefining Success conference will take place November 15 at Hotel Zonar in Zagreb starting at 11 a.m., and the exclusive donor dinner to raise funds to support the professional training of a talented future chef from Croatia starts at 19 p.m.

The purchase of tickets for the conference and donor dinner supports a project that advocates for the equality of women in professions related to gastronomy, oenology, catering and tourism. The price of a single ticket (conference + dinner) is 290 euros + VAT.

During dinner it will be scholarship awarded to catering school students for professional training in France.

The student will spend a month in Provence, where she will learn in the best restaurants, under the expert guidance of chef Michel Basaldella, a member of the Gourméditerranée Association and an instructor at the Alain Ducasse school in Paris.
