SCHOLARSHIPS: Published public call to encourage education in hospitality and tourism

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports in cooperation with the Central State Office for Demography and Youth in the school year 2023/24. published a public call to encourage education in hospitality and tourism - "Scholarships" in cooperation with employers. 

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, with the aim of motivating young people for hospitality and tourism professions, raising the standard of education and the quality of personnel, launched a scholarship program for pupils and students, which has been implemented since 2008 and has so far co-financed almost 2600 scholarship recipients, for whom more than 4,3, €XNUMX million.

Through the aforementioned invitation, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports will in the school year 2023/2024. to co-finance pupils and students studying for hospitality and tourism professions. 

These are scholarships that the Ministry awards in cooperation with companies in tourism, that is, hotels, camps, restaurants, travel agencies in such a way that each stakeholder participates in the total amount of the scholarship: the employer €80, the Ministry €186 of the total scholarship.

On the basis of the mentioned program, pupils and students studying for hospitality and tourism professions are granted a monthly scholarship of €266 in the school/academic year in the period from September 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024. A total of €497.700 was insured, of which €99.540 for the area of ​​Sisak-Moslavina County.

Immediately after the completion of regular schooling, i.e. studies, the company has the obligation to ensure the work of the scholarship holder for at least three continuous months in one season.

While receiving the scholarship, the scholarship holder has the obligation to regularly perform professional practice, enroll in classes/year in the regular period and work in the company after completing the education for at least three continuous months.
