The tourist offer of Gorski Kotar is now also available on the mobile application

Irresistible natural attractions, characteristic gastronomy, attractive accommodation, and a number of interesting opportunities for an active vacation are the reasons why Gorski Kotar In recent years, it has become a real magnet for both local and foreign tourists.

Last year, Gorski kotar as a destination surpassed the results from the record year 2019, recording 16,17% more overnight stays and 13,36% more arrivals, thus proving itself as a bright example of Croatian tourism who invested exceptional efforts in the development of the destination as well as its promotion.

"We are continuously focused on the domestic market, which has given us confidence in the previous two years. And last year's promotional activities bore fruit, as foreign visitors returned to us, especially guests from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria, which shows the value of this mountain end, which is only a 20-minute drive to the Adriatic", he pointed out Petar Hrg, director of the Tourist Board of Gorski kotar. He said that last year they carefully chose the markets and promotional tools with which they presented the main attributes of the destination.

One of the communication tools that enriches visitors' stay in this destination is i "Visit Gorski" - an application rich in quality content that makes it easier to find your way around the destination, along with notifications about upcoming interesting events, and is available in all App stores.

The application was created in 2022 through collaboration Prigoda Regional Development Agency i Tourist boards of Gorski kotar. It is partially financed by the funds of the Tourist Board of Gorski Kotar, and partly by the funds of the Croatian Tourist Board through the application of TZ Gorski Kotar to the Public Call for Associated Tourist Boards in 2022.

Extensive preparatory work for the creation and launch of the destination website and application included, among other things, the creation of destination photo and video materials, tourist interactive maps of the region, defining footpaths and their technical characteristics, the creation of tourist and interactive footpath maps and their descriptions, as well as marking.

"Visit Gorski" stands out above all for its modern and intuitive design, which is the first key characteristic that users notice.

The home screen of the application contains information about the weather forecast, the main screen highlights recommended events, and the list of all events can be filtered by region or current distance and by event category.

Important features of the application are the ability to favor events, add them to users' calendars, the ability to call directly from the application, and directions for getting to the location depending on the mode of travel.

The application also offers the possibility of a virtual walk, and the use of interactive maps for easier navigation and research in Gorski Kotar.

To access a part of the functions, a previous login to the application is required glaze and the verification number that arrives at the entered Email address, after which all registered users have the possibility to receive push notifications informing them about upcoming recommended and favorite events.

Registration allows users to participate in the interactive game Take a Quest, a fun game designed so that users are awarded points, i.e. Kvarks, when visiting various locations in Gorski kotr.

"Visit Gorski" is an application very rich in content, and it allows tourists and locals to find everything they are interested in in the area of ​​Gorski Kotor in one place - from events, attractions, restaurants, accommodation, all the way to health tourism.

At this moment, the first phase of the application's development has been completed, while all its significance will come to the fore with the realization of the second phase. The second phase of development, which will be carried out this year, envisages upgrading the application through the development and implementation of the system for online payment of tickets, i.e. entrance tickets for Goran natural or cultural attractions.

The presentation of these new features is planned for the end of the current year, and the sustainability of the application is based on clear benefits for the user of the application, but also for the accommodation service providers in the area of ​​Gorski kotar, which will be presented when the upgraded version is put into operation.
