In the first eleven months of 2024, an increase in trips by foreign cruise ships was recorded

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in the period from January to November 2024, 85 foreign cruise ships entered Croatian seaports and made 727 cruises. It was on those ships more than a million passengers, who stayed in Croatia for 1.642 days.

The number of trips by foreign cruise ships in the period from January to November 2024 increased by 14,5% compared to the first eleven months of 2023, and the number of passengers on these ships increased by 21,2%. The number of days spent by these ships in the territorial sea of ​​the Republic of Croatia increased by 14,5%.

Ships flying the flag of Malta made the most round trips

In the first eleven months of 2024, foreign cruise ships arrived under the flags of fifteen countries. Foreign cruise ships under the flag of Malta made the largest number of trips, namely 222 trips, which is 30,5% of the total trips made in the first eleven months of 2024. Followed by cruise trips made by foreign ships under the flags of the Bahamas (194 trips), Panama (76 trips) and Norway (57 trips).

Out of a total of 727 round trips by foreign ships most of them were realized in Dubrovnik-Neretva (46,6%) and Split-Dalmatia County (24,4%), which is a total of 71%. The remaining 29% of trips were made in the following counties: Zadar (13,6%), Primorsko-Goranska (5,8%), Istria (5,5%) and Šibenik-Knin (4,1%).

The port of Dubrovnik had the most visits by foreign cruise ships (505 visits), followed by the ports of Split (325 visits), Zadar (214 visits), Hvar (115 visits) and Korčula (103 visits).
