The conference #TURIZAM 2030 - "The future is now" that will be held on Wednesday, October 25 in the Gozdenica Cultural Center in Novalja, the City of Novalja and the Tourist Board of the City of Novalja, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds, Lika-Senj County and the Croatian Tourist Board, are celebrating the 70th anniversary of organized tourism in one of the most beautiful Adriatic island cities .

The program starts on Tuesday, October 24 with the exhibition "We and our guests", which will be held in the Museum of the City of Novalja, along with a klapa song and a gastronomic presentation "Novaljska tavula".

The conference, which is scheduled for a day later, will host numerous experts, entrepreneurs, political officials and representatives of educational institutions and local governments, and will include numerous lectures and discussions on the topic of sustainable tourism and the island's green and digital transition.

The aim of the conference is to recognize the opportunities brought by the green and digital future and, while preserving existing resources and traditions, step together towards a sustainable transformation of tourism.

The opening lecture will be given by the Mayor of the City of Novalja, Ivan Dabo, while the list of speakers is impressive: the Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac, Prefect of the Lika-Senj County Ernest Petry, Member of the European Parliament Sunčana Glavak, as well as the Vice-President of the European Commission for Democracy and Demography Dubravko Šuica and representatives of the Croatian Tourist Board. At the end, the closing speech will go to the prefect of Lika-Senj, Ernest Petry.

Let's also point out that on October 25th, the ceremony of awarding the "Cvet arburoža" award, which will be awarded to companies, organizations and individuals for the greatest achievements in tourism in the city of Novalja, is on the program. This festive event is scheduled for 18.00:20.00 p.m. in the Gozdenica Cultural Center, while Petar Dragojević will perform at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. on the Basilica Square.

This anniversary is not only a celebration of the past, but also a step towards a common future. Sustainability, innovation and digital transformation of tourism will be discussed through two panels.

"Witness how tradition and modern technology intertwine to create a sustainable tourist destination. Visitors can expect an inspiring program, learning from industry experts and the opportunity to connect with like-minded people. Come to Novalja on October 24 and 25 and celebrate with us. Be the driving force the strength of the changes we want to see in the future," emphasized the Mayor of the City of Novalja, Ivan Dabo.

And finally, as a special point of interest, we would like to point out the exhibition called Novalja through history "Our guests and WE", which will show the development of tourism in Novalja over the past seven decades through documents and photographs. All residents of the city of Novalja are invited, as well as all guests of Novalja, and judging by the collected materials, it will be a more than attractive, certainly nostalgic exhibition.

Panels

At the big ceremony marking the 70th birthday of tourism in Novalja, two panels will be held: "Tourism 2030" – tourism for the coming decade, and a panel on green and digital transition. In the first panel, the focus will be on the impact of recent crises on tourism, the development of smart and sustainable cities such as Pula, Zadar, Mali Lošinj, Cres and Novalja, EU support for tourism, as well as an attempt to get an answer to the question: What does the new law bring us? about tourism?

Along with the leaders of Croatian tourism, the mayors of Novalja, Pula, Cres and Mali Lošinj - Dabo, Zoričić, Gregorović and Kučić - will express their opinion on that occasion.

The composition of the panelists of the second panel "Green and digital transition" is also interesting. Let us highlight the representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and European Union Funds, the President of the Jadrolinija Management Board, David Sopta, the Director of the Agency for Coastal and Liner Maritime Transport, Paula Vidović, the Mayor of Cres, Marin Gregorović, as well as the President of the Island Movement, Maja Jurišić, and members of the ZEMC project team, Kruna Fafanđela and Simon Ferjuca.
