Where is Croatian tourism going? How much has the pandemic affected the thinking of tourists and what is the future of tourism? Answers to those questions Zoran Sprajc u Uplift conversations given by a man who has tourism at his fingertips.

Zoran Pejović is the CEO of Paradox Hospitality, a consulting company for hotel management. In that branch of the economy, Pejović went through the sieve and sieve, worked for numerous companies, traveled the world, got to know the tourist preferences of world travelers, and now he uses everything he has learned in the work of his company based in Split.

In addition, he is the founder and co-owner Paradox wine and cheese bar which in 2019 received one of the most prestigious awards in the world of hospitality, Hideaway Report 2019 Editors' Choice Award, in the category of Best Wine & Cocktail Bars (best wine and cocktail bars). So, Pejović is a man who definitely knows what he is doing in tourism, and he shared the grain of wisdom with the namesake Šprajc.

"Entrepreneurship is sleepless nights, creativity, space to create something new. Entrepreneurship is life. My business motto is ‘love and kindness’, that is, love and kindness. Find love for yourself and then for the people around you and so find your business model", Points out Pejović.

The future of tourism after the pandemic

When asked how Croatian tourism is shaken by the pandemic, Pejović gives a very optimistic answer.

"Tourism is not going anywhere. People will continue to travel and gather - this is a basic human need. Maybe travel isn’t, but gatherings definitely are. However, our people very often neglect themselves. They will offer a good product, good food, a good ambience, but too often they forget that they are the ones who are key in this service and that they can, roughly speaking, monetize their authenticity and way of thinking.", Explains Pejović and adds that his recommendation is to people from the tourism sector to work on themselves and to sell experiences.

I am deeply convinced that the pandemic has not changed anything, but has only accelerated the processes that have already begun, such as multigenerational tourism, or a situation where three generations travel together, says Pejovic, adding that it was before the pandemic, but now accelerated.

“People in their serious years are willing to invest money to travel the world with their whole family. This is a trend that will continue. People were looking for privacy, it has improved even more now. The need for sustainable stories has also absolutely exploded."Concludes Pejović.
