Italy is one of the most important emitting markets for the Croatian tourism sector, from which we made more than a million arrivals last year alone.

Ferragosto (from lat. Feriae Augusti = Feast of Augustus) is the name for the Feast of the Assumption, which is celebrated every August 15 in Italy, and is considered one of the most important religious and family holidays. At that time, many Italians go on vacation, and most take advantage of the entire vacation. It is already traditional, in return Ferragostu Croatia is the focus of most Italian media, which emphasize that our country has preserved its authenticity, ambience and traditional way of life and that it abounds in quality eno-gastronomy, but also a very attractive festival offer suitable for young Italian guests.

So far this year, over 450 arrivals and more than 1.7 million overnight stays have been made from the Italian market, and the CNTB points out that the improving transport connections between Italy and Croatia are a stimulating factor for the growth of tourist traffic from this market.

The popularity of Croatia among Italians is proven by numerous publications in the most popular Italian media

The tourist magazine "Marco Polo" dedicated its cover to Primošten and Šibenik-Knin and Zadar counties, while "Caravan e Camper" published the cover and the text "Return to Dubrovnik" which describes the tourist offer of the city. "La stampa" points out that Croatia is not alone sun and sea and that in addition to the rich natural and cultural heritage, it offers popular music festivals, and he also wrote about his favorite Italian "Vogue" about Croatia and Vis. "

Cosmopolitan "explored our beaches, or ten places where you can find paradise in Croatia. The famous tourist magazine "Bel Europa" published a special article about Croatia, and the cover is adorned with the island of Vis. The magazine, which has more than 450.000 readers, especially emphasized the importance of Croatian tradition and culture. The Croatian lighthouse Porer appeared on the cover of "DOVE", as part of which a report on Lošinj, Brač, Hvar, Korčula and Mljet, as well as the lighthouses Porer and Veli Rat, was published."Italian media are great fans and friends of Croatia and are very happy to write about our destinations and tourist offer. We are especially pleased with the significant growth in the interest of key Italian bloggers and influencers who have a large number of followers and who want to visit Croatia. This type of cooperation will be in an even stronger focus when planning activities for 2019. ", emphasized Viviana Vukelic, director of the CNTB Representation in Italy.

Also, the Italian state television company RAI 2 visited Croatia with the aim of exploring the Plitvice Lakes and Kornati National Parks. The show "Natural Beauties of Croatia" will be broadcast in the autumn program scheme with the aim of attracting Italian guests outside the peak of the tourist year. On the RETE 4 channel, the show "Parola di pollice verde" was broadcast, dedicated only to Croatia, the islands of Pašman, Pag and Lošinj, and Zadar and Split. Good cooperation with RETE 4 continues in September when the representatives of the show "Donna avventura" will visit Biograd na Moru and Trogir and discover new and still undiscovered Croatian destinations for their viewers.

Interestingly, the Italian travel search engine Skyscanner.it in the week of the World Cup finals analyzed the search results for flights from Italy to the countries that played in the finals of this year's championship, Croatia, France, Belgium and England.
