U Rovinj the final festive evening was held Days of Croatian tourism within which they were assigned Annual Croatian Tourist Awards, i.e. awards for the best in Croatian tourism in 2023. In front of more than 1200 participants, it was declared the tourist destination of the year, i.e. the new champion of Croatian tourism Dubrovnik, were declared the best tourist event of the year Đakovo embankments, while in the People in Tourism category the Annual Award "Anton Štifanić" was awarded - companies/institutions/associations To the public institution of Barac Caves for the management of protected natural values in the area of the municipality of Rakovica.
The "Anton Štifanić" annual award was won by an individual Robert Pende, director of the Directorate for Entrepreneurship Development, Investments and Competitiveness of the Tourism Economy at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, while the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented Sandi Corak, a scientific advisor in a permanent position at the Institute for Tourism. The Croatian Tourist Board also awarded a traditional award Man, the key to success – employee of the year individuals in 19 categories, while the Ministry of Tourism and Sports awarded an award for sustainability, Of course yours, which belonged this year to ACI.
Annual Croatian Tourist Awards this year, they were awarded according to a new concept, that is, according to new categories that they defined together Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Croatian Tourist Board and Croatian Chamber of Commerce. There are 15 categories, i.e. awards for tourist event of the year, tourist arrangement of the year, gastronomic experience of the year, hotel and camp of the year, and prizes were awarded in active, cultural, nautical, business, rural and health tourism, as well as prizes for Unique accommodation of the year and tourist destination of the year (Champion of Croatian tourism).
