National Days of Taste of Croatian Tradition - Tastes of the Bjelovar-Bilogora region

Local gastronomy with its tastes and smells, as part of the culture, heritage, customs and everyday life of people, stands out more and more prominently as an indispensable component of the tourist offer. In addition to that, the enjoyment of food is today an increasingly important motive for travel, but also an important element in the evaluation of the overall experience and guest's satisfaction with the destination.

The area of ​​Bjelovar-Bilogora County seems to resemble a large ecological carpet dotted along the way with clean, preserved space, on which gentle fields, arable fields, forests, vineyards and orchards, rivers, lakes and ponds line the gentle slopes of Bilogora, Papuk and Moslavačka mountains. and then, picturesque places intertwined with numerous paths in the lace of nature. The richness of the landscape, the fruits of nature, meat, grains and vegetables are the fundamental determinants that shaped the local cuisine.

The ingenuity of the use of ingredients that gave the dishes refinement and flavor personality exudes the freshness and clarity of the pure nature from which the main ingredients come. Dishes attract the table with their enchanting aromas, whether they include corn grits with sour milk, pork cooked with greens or turnips, roasted pork with beans and potato salad, pork stew with vegetables, a simple corn casserole with plum jam, or holiday Bilogora kovrtanj.

If we combine that experience with enjoying the rich range of wines from the Bilogora and Daruvar wine roads, the satisfaction becomes sublime.

The National Days of the Taste of Croatian Tradition will be held from November 18 to 28, 2022, in more than 100 restaurants throughout Lijepa Naša. Take a look at the rich palette of Croatian gastronomic treasures and from HRK 95,00/€12,61 enjoy a sequence of three traditional dishes, the preparation of which is lovingly nurtured even today in establishments that hold the Tastes of Croatian tradition standard. These are dishes whose smells and tastes conquer the soul and body, and turn dining into a true experience and pleasure.

It is a joint manifestation of the holders of the standards and systems of the County Tourist Boards, which is organized at the national level. The Tastes of Croatian Tradition project deals with the improvement of the offer of traditional local dishes in the daily offer of catering facilities, the networking of holders of the Tastes of Tradition standard, and the systematic development of new local tourist products and events in the field of eno-gastronomy and dining culture as a whole. 

The event will enable gastronomy lovers to enjoy a selected sequence of three traditional dishes at a promotional price of HRK 95/12,61 - HRK 155/20,57 in catering establishments carrying the Tastes of Croatian Tradition brand.

In the area of ​​Bjelovar-Bilogora County, there are twelve catering establishments that are holders of the Tastes of Bjelovar-Bilogora Region standard that participate in the national Days of the Taste of Croatian Tradition and where during the event you can taste three traditional dishes in a row at promotional prices.
