This year, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has provided an additional 800.000 kuna for the program "Occupation Promotion" - PROMOTION AND STRENGTHENING OF COMPETENCIES OF PROFESSIONAL OCCUPATIONS FOR TOURISM.

The program has been implemented since 2009 in order to strengthen competencies and raise the quality of human resources, students of secondary vocational and art schools by motivating young people to work in tourism, raising awareness among students and teachers about tourism as a multisectoral sector, introducing vocational school students from other educational sector with the possibility of implementing projects in tourism and connecting educational institutions and the private sector.

A total of 29 projects applied for the Public Call, and in accordance with the evaluation criteria published in the instructions for applicants and within the available funds, it was approved. financing 22 projects.

Grants are awarded to projects that promote topics such as: eco-tourist destination, tourism with elements of volunteerism (tourist-volunteer), tourist product that provides local experience, application of IT technology in creating a tourist product of the destination.
 
In the last five years, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has financed 80 projects worth 2,3 million kuna through this program.
