The May Day recreational Parenzana was a hit: Poreč is the most visited in Istria

According to data from eVisitor, this extended May Day weekend Porec achieved 56.035 overnight stays, or 13% more compared to the same period last year, and 16.973 arrivals, or even 28% more compared to 2022.

The most numerous guests were from Slovenia, in second place were guests from Austria, in third place were guests from Germany and in high fourth place guests from Croatia.

According to the type of facilities, the most nights were spent in hotel accommodation (ind 108%), followed by household facilities (ind 139%), campsites (ind 125%), non-commercial accommodation, i.e. houses and holiday apartments (ind 107%). According to HTZ data, Poreč was the most visited Istrian destination and one of the most visited in Croatia.

On Saturday, April 29.4.2023, XNUMX. in Baredine was held "May Day recreational Parenzana" which gathered a large number of citizens and visitors in love with cycling and the natural beauty of the area.

This already traditional pre-season sports event is organized by the Poreč Tourist Board in cooperation with the Poreč Cycling Club. There were two routes on offer, for those with better fitness, a longer route of 26 kilometers and a shorter route suitable for families with children of 13 kilometers.

After the bike ride, a free lunch and a tour of the Baredine pit and the Tractor Museum are provided for all participants accompanied by an expert guide. In addition to the people of Poreč, recreational athletes from Slovenia, Austria and Italy took part in the cycling event.

At the same time, on the Carinska gat and on the Freedom Square, live music and a DJ entertained the gathered with a gastronomic offer, which completed the celebration of the City Day and the May Day holidays. 

Excellent occupancy followed the destination throughout April, culminating in excellent numbers for the May Day holidays.

The following are two weeks dedicated to Vinistra and the Concours Mondial De Bruxelles, which will be held in the Žatika hall, with additional events and programs on the Poreč waterfront.
