That Americans are ready to travel abroad in early 2021 is also shown by data from the American Travel Insurance Company Squaremouth.
Namely, the data of this American travel insurance company show that 65 percent of all bookings for next year refer to international destinations and destinations that also make up 86 place of all planned trips in January and February 2021.
But also, the data show that despite the fact that European destinations accounted for half of the top ten international destinations for American travelers before COVID-19, currently due to travel restrictions the primacy logically takes over other destinations such as Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, Jamaica, Australia , and only the UK and France are European countries that are still in the top ten international destinations.
Thus, interest in European destinations is currently recording a decline in interest of over 90%, but it is positive that interest in Europe has increased significantly in the past few years. Accordingly, when the borders open and the global covid situation stabilizes, daytime growth in interest in European destinations is expected, as well as a return to pre-covid results.
These data are based on travel insurance policies purchased through Squaremouth.com in the period from March to August this year, and relate to travel in 2021, mostly to destinations that are already available to American travel enthusiasts.
ESTA: Croatia among the TOP 15 destinations
As we recently wrote, good trends and announcements from the US market for Croatia are confirmed by the data Electronic travel authorization system (Electronic System for travel Authorization - ESTA) which he published destination overview which users searched for the most in the period after lockdown.
Using Google Keyword Planner - a keyword planning tool from ESTA, they analyzed the countries to which people want to travel on vacation. Data were collected in August 2020, and using terms that include “Flights for X” and “Holidays in X” from ESTA, the following results were obtained.
Italy, Maldives and Mexico were the most searched on Google, while Croatia is among the top 15 destinations. Our competitors (although we should not be competitors) Spain, Greece and Turkey are also ahead of Croatia.
As far as Croatia is concerned, two key problems should finally be resolved by the end of this year - visa regime and double taxation, which significantly hampered trade with America, and thus the greater focus of American tourists on Croatia. Although this does not directly affect the arrival of American tourists in Croatia, but the focus of the economy and investors, as well as the perception of security, are certainly a great impetus for tourism.
