Today, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Tonči Glavina, held an online meeting with all directors of regional and tourist boards, in order to present them with further steps in implementing the reform of Croatian tourism.

"Tourist boards will get a stronger and much more significant role, and with their councils and assemblies they should become destination management organizations with a stronger role in managing tourism in destinations, taking care of all the details, not just marketing and promotion. That is why it is extremely important that they are familiar with all the processes that await them and all of us together", said Minister Glavina, pointing out that this is the first time that such a meeting has taken place that brought together the directors of all tourist boards in Croatia.

As by-laws of the new Tourism Act, they were presented at the meeting three new ordinances, which will be released for public discussion - Rulebook on the methodology of creating a destination management plan, Rulebook on the methodology of calculating reception capacity and Rulebook on indicators for monitoring the development and sustainability of tourism.

Soon, the implementation of the law on tourist land, security issues, work permits and others will be included in the public consultation.

Along with Minister Glavina, the director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, State Secretary Monika Udovicič and colleagues attended the meeting.
