Croatia is officially below 3% of rejected tourist / business visas, and thus Croatia has officially fulfilled the main condition for the abolition of visas for the USA.
It's official! The final rejection rate for Croatian tourist / business visa applicants fell to 2,69% last year, an important step forward in joining the US visa waiver program. We are looking forward to Croatians traveling to the United States without visas in the near future - Chargé d'Affaires Taylor announced today at the official Twitter profile American Embassies in Croatia.
Back in October last year, the former US Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, William Robert Kohorst, announced that Croatia was below 3 percent of rejected visa applications, and now we have an official confirmation. This fulfills one of the key conditions for Croatia's entry into the visa-free travel regime in the United States.
"In the last year, we have made significant steps to join the US Visa Waiver program, which is confirmed by today's publication of official statistics that we have lowered the threshold of rejected visa applications to 2,69%. There is still confirmation of meeting the security requirements that we expect soon. This means that Croats will soon be able to travel without visas to the United States. ” Davor Božinović, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of the Interior, pointed out.
Also, last year a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed "Passenger name Recognition", a document that is also required for the visa exemption program.
Now the main question is when will visas for the USA finally be abolished? Very fast. According to our sources, only administrative formalities are awaited until the final abolition of visas for Croatian citizens.
