The tourist boards of the municipalities of Kanfanar, Svetvinčenat and Žminj are organizing a series during February and March online education intended for private renters from the area of these municipalities, which will cover a number of important topics for renters - from legislation and administration, marketing and promotion, to topics related to tax obligations of renters, security in the tourist season, but also opportunities to adapt and improve business in order to achieve better results.
The organization of these trainings is one in a series of joint activities and projects carried out in recent years by the tourist boards of Kanfanar, Svetvincenat and Zminj, all with the aim of stronger networking and cooperation and providing services to renters and ensuring better information to all tourism stakeholders.
That these places are becoming more and more popular and visited on the tourist map of Istria is also shown by the statistics according to which in the past year in the area of these three municipalities a total of over 36 tourist arrivals and 000 tourist overnight stays, which means that tourists stay here for almost 9 days on average, which is above the average of the Istrian County. With a capacity of over 5 beds and 800 accommodation facilities in total for the whole area, tourist growth is visible from year to year, and with the aim of more sustainable tourism management and better preparation for the coming season, in the coming period renters will have the opportunity educate on all important topics and current events.
Cycle of education "Knowledge to a successful season 2022." through a total of six terms will offer renters the following:
MODULE 1: Administrative operations and basic preparations for the 2022 season - Interligo -16.2. at 18:00 (duration 2:15 h)
The first in a series of trainings will be held by Anamarija Cicarelli and Meri Čizmić Kraljević from the company Interligo doo - counseling for private renters. Anamarija Cicarelli is an educator and author of a number of specialized books on family accommodation management, and Meri Čizmić Kraljević is the editor-in-chief of the popular magazine "Apartman Plus" intended for private renters, educator and co-author of professional books on family accommodation.
Through this training, they will present to renters everything about the administration of private accommodation (documentation that renters should keep, price lists, invoices, what apartments must have according to the Ordinance, the arrival of inspectors, taxes…), but also give an overview of current tourist trends and advise how to better prepare for the upcoming season.
MODULE 2: Certification of eco-friendly accommodation "EcoDomus" and Categorization of accommodation - - Administrative Department for Tourism IZ - 23.3. at 18:00 (duration 1:30)
The second training is organized in cooperation with the help of the Administrative Department for Tourism of Istria, and contains two topics that will be presented by Milena Radošević as external expert associate of the Istria County Tourism Board for EcoDomus and Saša Vadanjel, senior expert associate for professional affairs from the Separate Workplace Management Board for Tourism of Istria County - Rovinj.
In the first part of the training, renters will have the opportunity to hear from Milena Radošević about the increasingly popular "EcoDomus" certificate, which has been developed and promoted by the County Tourism Department for years, and is intended for those accommodation establishments the operation of the facility, all with the aim of encouraging sustainability and positioning the County of Istria as an eco-friendly destination, which is increasingly sought after by tourists today.
In the continuation, Saša Vadanjel will talk about the categorization process, and it will be an opportunity for future landlords to find out what are the steps to the beginning of providing accommodation services, as well as current landlords who will be reminded of current regulations and recategorization obligations.
MODULE 3: Social Networks in Tourism - Miško Macolić-Tomičić (Marketing) - 2.3. at 18:00 (duration 2 h)
The growing influence of social networks as a tool of promotion versus classic advertising models is becoming imperative for small renters as well. Miško Macolić-Tomičić - digital marketing expert and co-owner of the Digital Marketing Agency, who has worked on many tourism projects throughout his career, will talk about how to successfully promote yourself on social networks, what opportunities are provided to us and how to use the best of each social network. from strategy creation and digital strategy management, or as a specialist in the field of website and store optimization (SEO), advertising, conversion optimization… In addition to being an experienced educator and lecturer in marketing courses at the University of Istria, Faculty of Economics in Rijeka, Diopter open University and the School of Economics in Pula, has gained extensive work experience and working with numerous regional and national organizations and companies (NP Brijuni, Istria County Tourist Board, San Servolo, Autowill, Istria Adventure, Maslinica resort…).
MODULE 4: Are you a landlord or a host? Find out how this difference can affect your income in many ways - Dubravko Fijačko - 9.3. at 18:00 (duration 2:30 h)
Dubravko Fijačko is a certified trainer of interpreter guides, and is currently working on new education programs for 21st century performers and a program of specialized interpretation of eno-gastro heritage, as the author of the project. Last year, he was awarded the prestigious national award "Simply the Best" for successful cooperation with the local community in creating new tourism products and for a creative approach to interpretation. He is the owner of a travel agency and has many years of practical experience in tourism, mainly in the organization of private tours in Croatia. During this training, they will talk to landlords about how to become a landlord, what details make a difference in the accommodation offer, what added value we can offer guests, how to be creative in 6 steps and examples of good practice.
MODULE 5: Tax liabilities of renters - Tax Administration - 10.3. at 10:00 (duration 1 h)
Representatives of the Tax Administration will present to the renters how to do business legally from the tax point of view: Siniša Novak (Supervision Service), Vlasta Močibob (head of Rovinj-Rovigno branch office) and Jadranka Krizmanić (head of the Pazin Regional Office). Landlords will be explained their obligations and procedures regarding membership fees to tourist boards, payment of VAT on commission for business with foreign agencies, payment of income tax from landlords and other topics in the field of tax system for landlords.
MODULE 6: Safety in the tourist season and Importance of websites for renters - MIA and Apartments - 16.3. at 18:00 (duration 1 h)
At the last training from the cycle, renters will have the opportunity to hear about methods of preparation for the safest tourist season, which will be discussed by representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, with the aim of acquainting renters with preventive activities carried out by the Police Administration. for guests and property.
After the topic of security, the team of Apartments, specializing in this area, will present to renters why it is important to have your own website when providing accommodation services, which are all benefits and how to make more money from renting your own website.
