The dance was held in the City Hall of Rijeka signing of the Agreement on Association of Local Tourist Boards of the Rijeka Ring and the Municipality of Klana.
The agreement was signed by the presidents Rijeka Tourist Board, Bakar Tourist Board, Kastav Tourist Board, Kraljevica Tourist Board, Kraljevica Tourist Board, Čavle Tourist Board, Jelenje Tourist Board, Kostrena Tourist Board, Viškovo Tourist Board and chief Municipality of Klana.
This Agreement on the Association of Tourist Boards of Cities and Municipalities from the Area of the Rijeka Ring and the Municipality of Klana regulates the manner of cooperation in order to jointly implement activities aimed at to project (marketing) association Tourist Boards of the Rijeka Ring and the Municipality of Klana.
Namely, the Law on Tourist Boards and the Promotion of Croatian Tourism, which entered into force on 01.01.2020. year, the possibility of uniting tourist boards and local self-government units was given.
Mayor of the City of Rijeka Vojko Obersnel welcomes this initiative, which is in fact a continuation of the cooperation of cities and municipalities in the so-called The Rijeka ring. “Through this joint action, we present ourselves as a unique tourist destination, rich in cultural and historical heritage. At the same time, such united tourist communities will be able to focus their resources on further raising the quality and connecting tourist products in the entire tourist destination."Obersnel pointed out.
Director of the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka Petar Škarpa stated that the Tourist Boards of the Rijeka Ring and the Municipality of Klana have been actively cooperating since 2009 and that in that period numerous projects have already been implemented that have united and presented the tourist offer of the Rijeka Ring in an extremely demanding tourist market.
"A common website was created, a general brochure that was distributed to numerous fairs and presentations, various promotional and information materials, mobile applications and a number of other materials. Special mention should be made of the Bike Rijeka project, for which we received special recognition from the UNWTO"Pointed out Škrapa and emphasized that today's Agreement will further strengthen the cooperation of all tourist boards in order to strengthen the tourism sector, redefine joint activities and in synergy of all involved in the tourism product to implement all projects that await us in the" new normal ".
CNTB Director Kristjan Staničić emphasized that this cooperation will enable more efficient branding and positioning on the domestic and global tourist map.
"This will make it easier for you to create your joint marketing plan, joint product development strategy, conduct joint education, represent common interests, but also easier to get money from the Funds for projects and programs of joint tourist boards.", Said Staničić, referring to previous examples of similar associations on the island of Krk and Gorski Kotar.
Although it is only a project association, the association of the Tourist Boards of the Rijeka Ring and the Municipality of Klana will certainly achieve better visibility and recognizability of the destination on the tourist market.
