The May Day extended weekend achieved excellent tourist results in the area of Omišalj Municipality, making Omišalj and Njivice one of the most popular island destinations during the spring extended weekend. In the period from 28.4. until 1.5.2023. a total of 2.708 arrivals and a record 11.026 overnight stays!
Compared to the year 2022, when 2.040 visitors stayed in the area and 8.273 overnight stays were achieved, a significant increase in statistical data is visible, and if we compare the data with the pre-pandemic year 2019, when a total of 2.842 arrivals and 10.157 overnight stays were achieved, we can happily confirm excellent results in 2023.
We would like to add that the largest number of overnight stays were in camps, 5.911 of them, while 4.056 overnight stays were recorded in hotels, and 741 overnight stays in household facilities. This year, too, the area of Omišalj and Njivica was chosen mostly by guests from neighboring countries: Slovenia (1.131), Austria (430), Poland (415), Germany (357). but also Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Numerous guests in the area of Omišalj and Njivica were welcomed by the rich spring program of the Spring Festival. In addition to attractive and newly renovated photo points, an exhibition and sales fair of flowers was organized on Saturday, May 29, at 13.00:XNUMX p.m. the distribution of maneštra began in the Rivica restaurant, and in the afternoon wool felting workshops, a workshop of medicinal plants from the island of Krk, and a workshop for making shapes from balloons and face painting.
