After last year's pause caused by the pandemic, the second phase of the well-known commendable project starts this weekend RokOtok - a cheerful summer swimming and educational marathon Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish, which he started two years ago in memory of his prematurely deceased son Rocket.
RokOtok received an award from the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure for its contribution to the promotion of maritime culture and was proclaimed the most beautiful story of summer 2019. This year the story goes on. The second of the three phases of the project should begin July 3 at 9 p.m. departing from Brodarica to the island of Krapanj. After that, swim to Zlarin, Prvić, Kaprije, Žirje and to Murter, Vrgada, Pašman, followed by Ugljan, Ošljak, Rivanj, Sestrunj, Zverinac, Iž, Rava, Dugi Otok and finally Kornat. This year's tour should be over July 27 at 18 p.m. on Ugljan, and Ribafish set a goal to swim a route of about 60 kilometers and connect 17 islands.
Once it swims to the island, Ribafish will to the large and small inhabitants of the island Šibenik-Knin i Zadar County convey why it is important to protect nature and the environment, will organize beach cleaning and an interactive and stimulating treasure hunt. Educational games in nature have also been designed to raise awareness of the problem of spending too much time in front of screens and mobile phones.
When this project was launched two years ago, not so many positive reactions were expected at the locations it swam to. In the first phase, it swam all the planned sections and connected 17 islands. On some of these islands he was not even experienced, and somewhere he was greeted as a rock star.
The first two stages of this year's venture were organized in partnership with associations Tatavaka i Together for Krapanj which s The city of Šibenik and island tourism communities launch the initiative For an archipelago without plastic. Successful project Zlarin without plastic expands to other islands, and Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish becomes an ambassador and supporter of the initiative.
Ribafish invites all residents of the islands of the Šibenik and Zadar archipelagos to join it this summer in another edition of RokOtok, but also to adhere to the epidemiological measures set by the Croatian Civil Protection Headquarters. He tells everyone to stay in nature as much as possible, to protect it and not to further "injure" the only planet that allows us blue skies, green grass, clear water and fresh air.
The second stage of the #RokOtok project was supported by many sponsors, Zadar County, To Croatian tourist agency, whose ambassador Dubravko Šimenc - along with many famous athletes such as Dina Levačić and Antonija Buličić - will swim at least one section with Ribafish.
