3rd international scientific and professional conference for the development of rural tourism RRT 2022 which will be held on November 24 and 25, 11 in Međimurje County in Terme Sveti Martin under the title: "Education as a key factor in sustainable and responsible development of the rural area" gathered a large number of lecturers, who will think aloud about the development of rural tourism.
The RRT 2022 conference has an international scientific and professional character and will be organized in the form of short expert lectures and several thematic panels where mutual experiences will be exchanged and conclusions will be drawn, that is, guidelines for future development. Preparations and materials for the discussion were offered by students and professors of several universities and colleges who conducted field classes in the area of Sisak-Moslavina County during 2021 and 2022. with the assistance of local tourism workers and the support of the local administration.
"An overview of the current situation of tourist offers in certain areas of continental Croatia revealed a lack of tourist activities and tourist infrastructure that would encourage the development of rural tourism. Rural areas have great tourist potential, especially when compared with rural areas in the neighborhood, such as Kranjska gora in Slovenia, etc. We believe that it is necessary to invest more in the development of rural tourism on the territory of continental Croatia, and in cooperation with our partners we came up with the idea of creating the necessary preconditions that will achieve exactly that." they state from the Vimal Academy, which together with the TZ Međimurska County, are the organizers of the conference.
The first day is scheduled as student conference at which selected students of economic faculties and faculties of tourism and management from several countries will present their experiences and proposals for the development of rural tourism based on fieldwork.
On the first day, there will be "Higher Education Open Day" where the participants of higher education institutions, partners of the RRT 2022 conference, will present their teaching programs and enrollment opportunities to students in the final grades of high schools from the immediate environment.
The second day of the conference will be organized in the Terme Sveti Martin u vid panel discussions and expert presentations businessmen, tourism workers and direct holders of development activities from several countries, and the presentation of scientific and professional works. A significant contribution to the work of the conference is expected from high representatives of the scientific community as well as relevant ministries.
