Zagreb County has announced a tender worth one million kuna for the award of grants to entrepreneurs in tourism.

Ivana Alilović; Zagreb County Tourist Board: We round off the offer and brand the entire region in an innovative way to connect all stakeholders and create a complete story

This is proof that we are ready to seriously raise the quality of accommodation and the entire offer of Zagreb County, he points out Ivana Alilović, the director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, and adds that with this tax they also confirm the direction in which they are going back a year.

"We are constantly working on raising tourist potentials and enriching the tourist offer, which should be accompanied by raising the quality of accommodation capacities and an additional offer of catering facilities. I believe that the interest will be great in the Zagreb County, very serious entrepreneurial stories have been developed, and new initiatives are being developed through the battle tourism potentials. We round out the offer and brand the entire region in an innovative way to connect all stakeholders and create a complete story. The results are already visible, and these funds give our entrepreneurs the opportunity to further raise the quality of their products and services, and they will certainly know how to make good use of it and focus it on projects that will raise the entire destination. We have potential, projects are underway and this is great news for our entrepreneur in tourism and for us who are working on promotion and we support the entire sector."Emphasizes Alilović, adding that the Tourist Board is available to everyone for more information.

We are recording good results in these difficult years, and this competition specifically provides support to raise the quality of destinations in all segments, adds Alilović and emphasizes that last year 11% more domestic guests stayed in accommodation facilities in Zagreb County and this trend will certainly have ascending trajectory. “In a difficult tourist year, however, we are recording good results. The pandemic opened some new opportunities for renters because the emphasis was on holiday homes as the most epidemiologically acceptable form of accommodation. " concludes Alilović.

The Zagreb County Tourist Board launched a new destination platform last year www.odmorniakdablize.hr which brings together holiday homes in one place, ie accommodation facilities, gastronomic offer and facilities in destinations through a complete offer and story.

The goal is, of course, to position the entire Zagreb green ring towards Zagreb as much as possible as an ideal weekend destination close to the city bustle. Also, the new platform was accompanied by a promotional campaign, followed by the "Around Zagreb" campaign in cooperation with the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb, all with the aim of attracting and positioning itself towards domestic guests.

Targeted tenders for grants to entrepreneurs in tourism, as in this case where the construction of swimming pools is encouraged, which are now imperative in holiday homes, are the best concrete moves and tools to encourage raising the quality of accommodation, and thus entire destinations.

If I want to accelerate market development and give the wind in the back to entrepreneurs in tourism, this is the right way and the first step.

The green Zagreb ring is certainly ideal as an escape from the city crowds and stress, and which offers a lot of quality content, all half an hour from the center of our capital. And with the mentioned tender, by raising the quality of accommodation, the destination will certainly become even more attractive.

The competition is open until April 1, 2021. Find out more about the competition HERE
