Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board (ZSZ) as part of appearances at fairs Travel and Adventure Show in the United States of America, held a special event dedicated to the presentation of Central Dalmatia and Dalmatian brunches representatives of American travel agencies, that is, travel organizers.

At a special event held in New York, with the director Tourist boards of the Split-Dalmatia County Ivan Vladovic, attendso is and Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the United States of America Pierre Simunovic, Mayor of the Town of Hvar Ricardo Novak and representative office director HTZ in New York Leila Krešić-Jurić.

The United States market has emerged as the most represented source market outside Europe for Central Dalmatia. Namely, last year, Split-Dalmatia County was visited by 261.000 tourists from the USA who achieved 785.000 overnight stays, making it the fifth largest source market for the Split-Dalmatia County in terms of arrivals.

Understanding the importance and potential of further positioning in this market, a special event was organized to present wealth tourist offers and food and winea delicacy of the Split-Dalmatia County. The gastronomic scene was presented through imaginative creations ŠChef's cuisine from the Mediterranean and European regions, led by renowned masterchef By Željko Neven Bremec with musical accompaniment and performance Katice Marinović.

On this occasion, the local tourist boards of Split, Trogir and the Town of Hvar also participated in the organization of the event. The event was attended by the director of the Split Tourist Board Aliana Vuksic, director of the Trogir Tourist Board Marine Piveta and director of the Hvar Town Tourist Board Iva Belaj Šantić.

Besides the fact that the US is the fifth largest issuing markete in 2024 according to data from the system eVisitor, it is also a market from which je over the past few years (since 2016 when the system was introduced eVisitor) realized growth in tourist traffic of almost 150%. At the same time, tourists from the USA have the highest daily consumption on average i to 380 euros (according to the TOMAS Croatia 2022/2023 survey). When it comes to the motives for traveling to Central Dalmatia, the greatest interest from this market is for products and offers related to destination research (touring), sun and sea, nature, culture and gastronomy.

PThe Dalmatian Marenda project was launched by the SDŽ Tourist Board 2022. with the aim of presenting brunch as an authentic Dalmatian meal and an original tourist product, which includes branding facilities and producers who use local, indigenous products and prepare them in the traditional way.
