Decision of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia on the suspension of certain activities and the provision of catering services on family farms, except for catering facilities from the group "Hotels" and "Camps" and types "Student" or "Student dormitory" or "Akademis" from the group "Other catering facilities for accommodation ”, which are only allowed to serve guests who use the accommodation service in them, has led to confusion and unambiguous interpretation.
Namely, the question asked by other accommodation providers (renters, holiday homes, family farms) was: Can we receive guests or not?
Due to the unambiguous interpretation of the decision, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports confirmed to our request that they sent a proposal to the Headquarters to change the decision to enable the provision of accommodation in all types of accommodation facilities, regardless of type and legal status.
"Following the Decision on Necessary Epidemiological Measures Restricting Assemblies and Introducing Other Necessary Epidemiological Measures and Recommendations to Prevent the Transmission of Covid-19 Diseases through Assemblies (OG 131/2020), adopted on 27 November 2020, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports Request for interpretation of the part of the Decision related to the provision of catering accommodation services with food, in order to eliminate ambiguities related to the application of the Decision on the provision of accommodation services to room and apartment renters (natural persons) which are not explicitly stated in the Decision such as family agricultural holdings.”Pointed out the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
According to the MINTS, the position of the Headquarters is that the decision did not suspend the work of natural persons who can provide accommodation services.
"The position of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia is that the Decision does not suspend the work of natural persons who can provide accommodation services and that these persons can continue to provide this service in accordance with the Law on Hospitality. In addition, it is especially noted that these natural persons are obliged to adhere to all prescribed epidemiological measures when providing accommodation services.”Conclude the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
An official amendment to the decision of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia is expected soon.
